About the family

The eldest boy is preparing to make the transition into High School, making this an important stage in his development. The family would love to find a confident, positive Buddy who can help build confidence, encourage independence, and be a supportive presence as he navigates this exciting new chapter.

What the family is looking for

The family would like a Buddy who:

  • Brings a fun, energetic personality and is someone the boys genuinely look forward to spending time with.
  • Can provide a positive male role model and mentor.
  • Is able to assist with homework and potentially provide additional academic support where appropriate.
  • Enjoys getting involved in activities such as football, tennis, trips to the park, drawing, cooking, and other creative or active pursuits.
  • Would be happy to plan occasional days out during the school holidays.
  • Can strike the right balance between being fun and engaging while also encouraging focus, good habits, and responsibility.

The role

This is an excellent opportunity for a Buddy looking for a regular, long-term placement where they can build meaningful relationships and make a genuine difference in the lives of two young boys.

The role will include collecting the youngest child from school, which is located just a five-minute walk from the family home.

The ideal Buddy will be active, reliable, approachable, and able to connect naturally with children. While the family would love someone who can be playful and have a silly side, they are equally keen to find someone who can provide structure, encouragement, and support with homework and daily routines when needed.
