Annie & Susie

My Big Buddy was founded by Annie Merrylees and Susie Everitt in June 2006. The pair met whilst nannying for two prominent, neighboring families in Kensington, London. In their discussions about the nanny industry, they soon identified a pressing need for male nannies, particularly in the London area.

Susie had moved to the UK from Adelaide, Australia in 2003 and been working as a nanny in London for 3 years by 2006. At the time she was caring for Walty, aged 6 and Marianna, aged 8. Occasionally her male friends would help the family out over the weekends when Susie had time off. The kids would get so excited and behave for Susie all week with the promise of a play date with one of the boys at the weekend!

Annie moved to London from Melbourne, Australia in 2004. During her nanny career she had been employed by three families headed by single mothers. At the time of Mbb’s establishment she was responsible for the care of three boisterous boys aged 10, 12 and 14. She noticed how well the boys responded to their male school teaches and coaches and began to understand the importance of the male role model.

After three years of successfully running Mbb as a London based team Susie decided to return to Australia. After the completion of a Marketing diploma in 2009 she now heads our Australian recruitment division, marketing Mbb to prospective candidates looking to work in the UK.

Annie continues our local recruitment and also takes care of all training, mentoring and placements. Over 12 years of varied Nanny experience fully qualifies her for this task!
